Lesson 5: Water Conservation Kit Challenge
Lesson Summary:
Students learn about the tools in their take-home Water Conservation Kit, where to find instructions on how to use each item, and how to earn points and prizes for completing kit activities online and in their student workbooks. To prepare for using the kit at home, students practice using a flow bag to measure water flow from a school faucet.
Learning Intentions:
- Students use kit items to measure home water efficiency, time shorter showers, reuse water, test for toilet leaks, and conserve water while washing dishes.
- Follow Student Port instructions for kit items and complete workbook activities.
- Earn points by completing kit activities, taking the pledge, finishing homework, submitting the survey, and entering the video contest.
